The Bachelorette Party Pt. 1

Here's part one two my first Swan Queen fanfic. (To all the people not associated with Once Upon A Time, Swan Queen is a lesbian couple so if you have a problem, obviously don't read this) Let me know what you think!

“Emma, you’re coming tonight right?!” asked Ruby, barely able to contain her excitement.  Emma had been staring off into space, not even paying attention to anyone in particular when Ruby decided to bring up her bachelorette party. Truthfully, Emma hadn’t even thought about it.

“Of course, she’ll be there. I’ll make sure of it!” This coming from Snow.  Emma had noticed how Snow had really started acting like her mother. Speaking for her, bossing her around, treating her like a little kid… But Emma didn’t really want to argue, so she just nodded.

“It’s going to be so much fun!” Ruby was practically bouncing off the walls at this point. “I’ve got to go get ready but I need an opinion,” she said as she pulled a sleek black phone out of her jeans pocket. Scrolling through the pictures, she finally found the two she was looking for, “I have two dresses that I can’t decide between, should I go with the black one,” showing the first, a black, leather mini-dress that had major sex appeal, “or the red one?”  She said as she flipped to the second.  This was a tight, sparkly red dress that based on the picture; hit Ruby in all the right places.  Seeing the dresses, Emma thought about how sexy Regina would look in them.  Oh shit, Regina, Emma thought. She had forgotten that tonight, she and Regina were supposed to watch a movie they had both wanted to see for a long time now.

“Oh, definitely go with the red one. It’s a signature,” replied Belle.  Belle had been really pretty quiet during the conversation. Everyone suspected that she was jealous of her best friend.  Ruby was marrying a sexy, Russian chef she had met on her brief trip to Manhattan. They fell in love and he agreed to move back with her. When the boundaries were lifted, many of the residents had decided to take little vacations. They all returned to Storybrooke though. The ties to their fellow fairy tale characters were just too strong to leave the little town in Maine.  Ruby hadn’t been in the relationship with Alek nearly as long as Belle had been in hers with Rumple.  She was getting antsy, wondering when he was going to put a ring on her finger. They had talked about it a couple times, but nothing had come from it.

“I totally agree with Belle. Red is your color,” Snow said, winking.

The conversation kept going for a little while. Emma didn’t know what to do. She could always watch the movie another time. Ruby’s bachelorette party would only happen once. Shit, what do I do? Emma couldn’t think of a solution. Regina would be really upset if she left her to go party with her friends after they had already made plans.

“Guys?” asked Emma. The conversation kept going, having not heard Emma.

“I was thinking the red too. I have the greatest shoes to match. Okay, red it is,” she said, looking at the clock on the wall behind the diner bar. “I’ve got to go. We’re meeting at Snow’s at seven right?”

“Right,” replied Snow. Ruby grinned and turned to leave.

“See you later! You all better be looking hot later!” Her grin broadened, clearly using her wolf-like charm. “But not as hot as me!” She disappeared into the back of the diner. Emma sighed. She had wanted to ask Ruby if it would be okay to bring Regina with her.

“What’s wrong Emma?” Having picked up the observant, concerned mother thing pretty quick, Snow noticed Emma looked a little troubled.

Oh, what the hell.  Ruby has been supportive of the relationship. She’ll be fine with it.

“I have to bring Regina.”

Snow’s smile instantly turned into a frown. Belle noticed the shift in Snow’s emotions and grinned. Emma knew Belle didn’t care about it.  She had gotten over the fact that Regina had locked her up for 28 years.  Her relationship with Rumple wouldn’t be as good as it was now if Regina hadn’t done it.  Snow on the other hand was a completely different story.

Ugh, she is not brining Regina!  The thought kept circling through Snow’s head. She had not approved of Emma and Regina’s relationship since the day it began.

“No.”

“It’s not really your choice, Snow.” Emma was frustrated. She wasn’t a kid. She was perfectly capable of making her own decisions.

“It isn’t yours either. This is Ruby’s bachelorette party.  It’s her decision.”
Belle slipped out of the booth, not wanting to get involved.

“You know she doesn’t have a problem with it! You’re the only one in this town that does!”

“Your father does!”

“He does not!” Emma noticed that a couple of people had turned to stare so she lowered her voice.

“He just wants me to be happy.”

“I want you to be happy. Just not with her.” They both stared at each other for a few long seconds. Emma took a sip of her now cold cinnamon cocoa. When it was finished, she put a couple bills on the table and stood.

“It’s not your decision on what can make me happy or not.” She started walking to the door. Almost to it, she stopped and turned. Snow looked very pissed off. Oh well. Emma knew she had a way of making people that way. “Regina and I will see you at seven.” At that she walked out the door, and straight to her yellow bug.

Now she was pissed off and she still had to go home and convince Regina to go with her.

Oh hell.
